Creating curb appeal

I really want to landscape the front of my house with conifers. Our style of house is very popular in the neighbourhood and I would love to create uniqueness. Conifers, ornamental grasses and rocks. Something to break the symmetrical look of the house. I'm not afraid to cover the bottom windows, this is a zone 5 or 6 full sun garden. Can anyone offer landscape advice or suggestions?
