A stove next to the sink is not functional. No counter space. If you have committed to this place, the thing you need to buy immediately is a rolling island chopping-block cart which fits on the wall between the door and the kitchen cabinetry. You can roll it near the sink/stove to serve as a counter, as a place to put the dishes you just washed, or to bring your ingredients near the stove when cooking. Better yet, two islands, one to roll and the other (with some storage) to form the other half of your kitchen.
