1) you could hire a designer to make some suggestions on finishes that would bridge the gap, and/or an approach to follow when finding your own.

2) you can do some searches with the word "transitional," which is a contemporary blending or overlap zone between modern and traditional elements.

3) you can try posting photos of some items you have, next to photos of the space you're moving to and/or looks you like, and see if people here have suggestions.
