      This is a Laurus nobilis, or Sweet Bay, a zone 8 slow growing shrub or tree if trimmed.

      Hi dynodeb. Great question! Our Little Ragu is a real winner! Here's why:

      • It's smaller and more compact
      • It has smaller and brighter leaves
      • Its new stems are a stunning reddish color, so the contrast against leaves is very noticeable
      • It's a great container plant. It doesn't get as large as its relative bay laurus plants.
