Is it too late?

Im thinking of growing vining nasturtiums on a partly shade fence. Is it too late to direct sow seeds? I know they like cooler weather. I'm worried it's going to get too warm soon and I'd have to mail order the kind I'd like (Yeti ) What do you all think? Thanks in advance for any response!

what to lose if you try??... a couple bucks on a pack of seed ... go for it ...

it really isnt worth worrying about ... whatever happens.. you will learn something ... and that is good ..

Well, whenever I've seen nasturtiums growing in the summer, they've been leggy and taken over by mites and aphids.
