Should I use this trellis?

Ok clematis pros! My cheapie umbrella trellis bit the dust, but the top is still intact - should I use it? Or will it just look weird? It's about knee high once it's sunk in the ground. I just got my Silver Star order - I have Princess Diana, Toki, Josephine, Bourbon, and Blushing Bridesmaid as possibilities.

I think that would work well for a non-vining clematis like c. Integrifolia. The circular parts could keep the vines together with the outer vines draping down. I use a crosshatched tomato support for mine.

Princess Diana and Josephine are too large. Toki and Bourbon can get to 6'-7' so might end up on the ground, but Blushing Bridesmaid (AKA Kaiser) isn't supposed to exceed something like 4 1/2', I think it would be well placed to grow up and drape over the trellis top. If you don't like the look after a couple of years you can always replace it.

Thanks Babs! I never know on the sizing, I just don't have enough clematis compare to. Will see if I can find a spot for it.

Where did you get 'Bushy Blue Bell'? I have tried multiple integrifolias and ended up with 6-12' vines instead of tidy little mounds....

At a local nursery. I have also started them from seed. If I am still in this home I will send you seed this fall.
