Late last summer I rebuilt an area of my yard on the side of the driveway that was a mess. The area of turn has new sod and is 25'x25'. I installed irrigation with rotary heads on the corners. Not having enough time to put a new valve and zone on my system, I left the main pipe exposed and connected a 3/4" garden hose to it. The hose was connected to a house bib which was fed by a 1/2" copper line at 50 PSI in the basement. With that it seemed there wasn't enough pressure or volume to get the heads to pop up. They just kinda pissed a weak stream of water straight up into the air.

So thinking the 1/2" pipe in basement wasn't providing enough volume, I converted the basement copper and the bib to 3/4". That seemed to do the trick. All four heads popped up and shot water the 25' so I had head to head coverage to all four corners.

At the end of the season I blew the lines out as needed. Now, this spring I go and connect my hose just as it was last year when it was working and again, my heads don't pop up and they just dribble water.

Can anyone shed light on what is going on? I would hate to think there is a break in the pipe. I did a good solid job on the install and would hate to have to dig anything up to troubleshoot. The grass looks amazing just now and would prefer not to destroy it.
