When to Prune Rhododendrons ?

Can you Prune Rhododendrons after they flower , late May or early June ? Or is it better to wait until they are dormant in Winter ? I am in New Jersey, 2 of my 3 the Rhododendrons are currently blooming. One looks like it will not have any flowers this year (neither did it last year).

Yes, you can prune immediately after blooming. If you wait until later - like in winter - you will be removing any potential flowers, as rhodies set flower buds for the following spring in late summer or early fall.
