Sounds like a good plant. If it does get really hot early on you might want to rig some shade cloth over them too.

I'll be planting mine late as well Lucille . I plan on planting violets pride and cupids kisses in the garden after they have leafed out. The others I'll be growing in pots till I decide if I like them. I don't often have trouble with planting potted roses , however transplanting a planted rose never fares well for me.
