Bulb fertilizer and division

Hi all. I am a long time GW member, but new to this forum.

dusk is upon me, so please excuse me this beginner question.

I have many clumps of daffodils and and running short of energy and daylight.

Some of the clumps of daffodils/narcissi are large. This year they bloomed very well. I want to divide the large clumps and have labeled them.

I am in Zone 5a Massachusetts.

Questions:

1. Must I wait until fall (? October?) to dig up and divide?

2. I am out of bulb booster or bulb tone. I DO HAVE phosphate and bone meal, as well as 10-10-10, Rose Tone (Epsoma), and Epsoma Flower tone.

The daffodils have passed. I snipped off the spent flower head.

May I use the phosphate or BONE MEAL to fertilize? Or what. A trip into "civilization" (town) is a 45 minute deal. I hate shopping, but love staying around my gardens, oven, and wild critters.

Thanks for info.

PS anyone tried planting the collected seeds from daffodils or tulips, or hyacinth?

PPS -- I must declare that I am smitten with poeticus (from my childhood home -- I tranplNted some bulbs and they 'took off'!
