Since I am a dedicated seed saver, I don't buy a lot of seed; but I have ordered my sweet corn, snap peas, and chard from Burrell for many years. Their selection is oriented toward commercial growers (to whom they sell in bulk quantities) but they also sell smaller quantities to gardeners. Their best buys are large-scale packets (1 ounce - 1/2 lb), for which shipping is included in the price. Those large packets, properly stored, are good for several years of planting.

They have only a limited (and fairly recent) online presence, so I have always ordered by phone. What I find most outstanding about this company - year after year - is their incredibly fast shipping. I ordered by phone Monday, and the seed arrived today! Germination has always been excellent. For the most common vegetable seed, they have my highest recommendation.
