Not sure about a fiddle leaf fig but I have rooted fig cuttings in 100% perlite, I have put cuttings in a pot and put in a tote in the shade with rain water in the bottom and replace the water occasionally, worked pretty good but now I root in a nice draining soil so I don't have to re pot from perlite to a soil later which disturb the roots.

I now root in a well draining soil, put in tote with little to no water, put lid on, put inside of the house on heating mat. I took these cutting a month ago from the neighbors fig tree and they are now rooting and budding nicely and the nice part is I don't have to really disturb the roots later when I transplant to a larger pot.

Woah. Your setup is way more advance than mine. Should I move mine to a well draining soil? What is your soil mix specifically?

If you got 2 cutting try different ways, the perlite will work but when you transplant it to dirt it will take more time for the plant to recover. I used a coco-peat from lowes in the photo above but if you mix 1/3 peat moss, 1/3 perlite and a 1/3 potting mix it should work but I only watered one time at planting for the ones in the tote the moisture with the lid on top keeps it wet (to much moisture will cause rot) and I also wrapped my stems with grafting tape.

I did an experiment last year with my cuttings and the ones in 100% perlite are about 1' tall this year and the ones I did in soil are 2' tall since I didn't have to disturb the roots when transplanting to a larger container I think. I also potted up some and put behind my shed in the shade and they rooted also, I just water them about every other day.

I usually plant them straight into the yard during the warmer months (in the shade of course) I water them once every week and most of them will strike (60-70%).

I usually use 2 to 4 feet branches with dark leafs, and I remove all but 4-5 leafs, which I won't cut in half. They usually die soon after but the buds grow back quickly. Straight into dirt, no fertilizer nothing.
