I have had some of my plants do the same, Marie. There are ways that people trick plants into growing, but I have not bothered with it.

It shows that these plants will grow according to their individual make up and longer dormancy. Sometimes a plant that has produced heavily one year will not do the same the next. I have found that a few of mine that where slow, where in need on new soil and seemed to grow better after it was changed. I do not believe this is the only reason, but in this case it worked.

Rick, you are absolutely right. These plants had new soil and fertilizer in March but I hope they will leave out for me.

Yes, some of my plants pretty one year and no bloom the next. I wish I can talk and ask it why do you do that to me? haha

Arabicums and multiflorums will usually bloom before breaking dormancy and leafing out. Probably some obesum hybrids, too. This is not unusual and seen in many wild plant species around the Globe.
