They deserved rescuing , glad you saved .them. I like the blue one's color.

There are no wild hosta in North America. They are native to Korea, Japan, and parts of China. They are seedlings from someone's garden.

Nice finds! I have some in my garden that are doing so well they are staying. I put a bunch of seedlings in a pot of gardensoil. It’s promised to someone who needs ground cover and doesn’t care about pedigree. I think I’ll do that with all the other seedlings that are in the way. With all the rain I have plenty this year.

These just self-seeded in this location. Most likely spawn of my Elegans To me they are a nice mix with all the variegated hosta and if you have room, why not?

Some transplanted into a tough spot

Plenty of them around. Empress Wu seems to be the most prolific though. I doubt this is from the Empress, Frances Williams at least partially is my guess. I need to find a home (two this size) for these. It's getting crowded.

Jim, I'm aware of the origins. I call them wild because they are self-pollinated and are 'wild' to me.

Jon..I consider my seedlings a gift..I know most of mine are Elegans which is one of my favorites so it's great!..I have room and I let them stay..as you said "why not?"..

…….and how's this for a 'Wild' hosta. A couple of leaves have the exaggerated center stripe. I think it is AMAZING! It's getting (is) large enough to divide. I have to find a nice spot for one in the Fall.

None of the others come close, but there are some with nice deep veins, a little blue, different shaped leaves, bigger smaller. Just like people, all different.
