It's odd how that GS7 has capped off a full set of leaves above the blooms already and the blooms below haven't even fully opened yet. It bloomed this weekend on May 28, 2017.

I am enjoying 1st blooms this season for all those mixed packet and same pod seeds planted in 2016. So far, the blooms have been either pink or red singles, some with more white than others. I've decided to keep this thread going as they bloom so other newbies believing they'll get variety out of mixed seed packets can know what to expect. I'm just learning what to expect myself, as I meet each individual bloom.

In addition to the above, the following have bloomed for the first time in 2017:

ND1: Germinated February 20, 2016 / Bloomed April 1, 2017

RG3: Germinated March 17, 2016 / Bloomed April 12, 2017

The picotee RG3 (red) & GS7 (fuchsia) in the original post are my favorites so far.

All very nice Maria Elena, and one with a faint scent....keep sniffing....What are your plans for these??? Have you considered planting a few together in one pot as a mixed planting? I would be a nice way to display them.

Last year, I germinated roughly 140 seedlings. Because many were similar seeds, I gave away 60 at the 4/5-month stage to friends, family, neighbors ... I even took some to my Mom's MD's office and gave them away to staff. I gave away the small caudex, single root ones and kept the interesting looking 80. I still owe some to very special people but am waiting to see the blooms first. To those who shared seeds with me last year (a handful of people on this forum), I will offer an adult plant in exchange for postage.

This spring I planted another 140, this time KO seeds. I will slowly weed everything out as they bloom. I plan to keep about 40 for myself ... For now ... We'll see. The rest, I plan to sell through local Farmer's Markets and nurseries on consignment.

These are a big hit here, yet so very little people know how to care for them. Every time I pass a house with an adenium on the property, I stop and speak with the owner. I am slowly beginning to be known as, "That plant muchachita." The other day, as I was taking a stroll to the Post Office, a car suddenly screeched to a halt ... The owner rolled down the window and ecstatically yelled, "Hey, my plant bloomed!" It was a young woman I'd met two months previously whose 4' plant was not blooming. I advised her to change the soil to something faster draining and more airy, fertilize it regularly, and showed her how to prune it. She did and it did!

Oooo, yes ... I do like the way that looks. The concept is to have one bloom pick up color from the other. You see the pink has a dark red center and it's paired with a dark red bloom? I think a contrasting texture, like pachypodium would look nice in there, as well. The white top dressing gives it a polished look.

If you take a look at my Idea Books, you will see all the variety I have going. I can so totally do this.

I'm so glad you like the idea & yes I agree, a contrast would be nice. I saw this photo on the Internet & thought it was a nice way to display single colours together.
