New Lemon tree

Hello everyone, first time posting, but have done many reading. So I bought this little Lemon tree from Home Depot. The info card said I could leave it in the pot, which I did. It's been in the house in a very sunny western window, producing many flowers. The soil tended to dry out very quickly as I am in Montreal, Quebec, and the heating was still on at times. I just recently moved it outside under my Gazebo which is shady, trying to acclimate it before putting in to full sun. I left it in its pot, and put it into another pot and filled the sides with some well draining soil mix, also to give weight to the pot. it can be windy here sometimes.

i have some pictures, it seems to be doing well,

my question is: When i purchased the plant, there seemed to be a fruit, but it looks like it fell off. Can i do something to prevent the fruit from falling off.?

Should I start using Neem oil now to prevent bugs?

Fertilizer: what is Recomended? I have an organic based fertilizer, 4-3-7 for veggies, shrubs and fruit trees

it contains hen manure,sphagnum peat moss,potassium sulfate and seaweed flour. Ça is 4%

recomended dose is 1/2 cup?

this seems like a lot?

also when can I move it into full sun, it's on my deck.

PS. The 3 'rd picture is where there was a tiny fruit and fell off, But there still seems like there is something growing there.

Nice tree! I would search up 5-1-1, which is what many of us use for our potted trees. For one tree, I would use Dyna Grow Foliage Pro. The other fertilizer some here use is only sold in 25lb bags, so you are better off with a jar of FP.

Move it to full sun gradually. Keep it in shade for 2 weeks, partial shade for 2 weeks, then full sun. Fruit trees will put out more fruit than they can carry and then drop what they cannot carry, so what your tree did is perfectly normal. It will keep more fruit as it matures.

Then too, stick it in the spot you would like for the summer and cover it with a bug screen or a shade cloth that allows some sunlight in for a couple of weeks and then it should be fine without a cover at all.

Thank you! Yes I am slowly acclimating it to the sun, for pest control, can I use Neem oil, I prefer natural vs chemical.
