Lechate! Help!
Hey all, I started my worm bin (the tower style Worm Factory 360) about a month ago. I have had no obvious problems other than a few days of a mite infestation that cleared quickly.
I was concerned at first that my bin was creating no lechate. I felt like I was supposed to have SOME moisture coming through to the bottom but I didn't.
Woke up today and BOOM-- lechate pouring out. Close to 2/3 of a cup. It smells a bit foul (not horrible but pretty bad) and I am concerned that now my bin is too wet. Are my worms going to die from the moisture? Is the foul smell a bad indicator for my lower tray that is processing?
What should I do? Take the lid off and air it out? Just watch? Can I use the lechate?
thanks in advance... definitely a crazy newbie over here!
