Kansas should bloom a bit earlier and be a brighter red, Karl tends toward crimson, has almost purple undertones. Karl is taller than Kansas (generally) when fully mature. Neither have a scent so can't tell that way....

No, think Karl can at times look a little less double and you can see yellow stamens, have never seen them on Kansas, too full. That's my experience, others may have seen different and hopefully will say so....
