Akane J.M.

last modified: 9 years ago

I purchased a Akane J.M. earlier this year and it did real well with beautiful color. I noticed about the middle of May that some of the leaves were developing brown spots on them. Now in early June a lot of the leaves have them and the spots are large enough to cover half of the leaf and also I have noticed a few leaves had fallen off.

Has anyone else seen this? I found a little information from the U.K. I this it was where this was discussed but never saw what the cause or remedy was, if there is any. Also saw where it is mentioned the leaves come fall are very nice again. Is this true? Also it seemed to occur no matter the amount of shade the tree had.

Can someone shed some light on this? My once beautiful tree is now a ugly duckling. I am located in Ga in zone 8.
