If you embraced the color and style of the bathroom you have copied, I think you will be happy with the mostly-white result. Because the tiles both have so much interest here, it's not boring at all. The serenity and understated appointments are intentional. As you know, not all whites are the same. You can vary the whites and get a little contrast. To push it to Victorian, I would consider adding Victorian ceiling tile wallpaper, but only on the ceiling, not the walls. Then you'd have something more visual at ceiling height with some texture. I feel certain your planned lighting fixtures will just WOW the room, adding sparkle and ambience. Be sure to post photos when you are done.

I think a light grey would be great on the walls above the white tile. Then a white ceiling.

I got some advice from a paint expert and she suggested that I paint the walls a very, very pale grey, a colour called Mandarin Tusk. She also suggested that I paint the shutter a French green. I will leave the ceiling white and I have purchased a Victorian ceiling rose from where I will hang a silver and crystal chandelier. I am not sure about the green shutter tho as I was thinking of wall papering the walls in a black/grey and white pattern, but perhaps I can bring in a little green in the wall paper colouring. I am putting wood on the floors and I was thinkin of painting the skirting around the floor white to blend in with the tiles. I am a little concerned about too much colour. I want the room to look Victorian and not French Provencial (although it may turn out that way) Any thoughts, anyone?

How about a light grey? It would provide some contrast without being jarring. Good luck.
