I woudn't touch them. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

But, you might want to consider bigger pots for those plants. They don't look all that big. Most recommend at least 3 gallon pots at a minimum. 5 gallon is considered a sweet spot. 7 gallon and bigger is nice but not usually worth the space and potting soil IMO.

@esox07 Thanks. I'll probably transplant them to bigger pots in a bit. I know for certain the roots have plenty of room presently. I'm sure in years past I have seen articles of videos advocating pruning to promote growth but of course, I do plenty of research first.

Some people do prune their peppers. However, I am not one of those. I have not seen any accounts where pruning had proven to promote a significant amount of additional growth or pepper production.

My motto with peppers is "Less is more" when it comes to human intervention. Pepper plants seem to know what is best for them.

I too am a firm believer in "If it ain't broke, don't fix it." but in the same breath I also "do plenty of research first.". My favorite method is to use Google Images with Bhut Jolokia plant pruning in the search box & it turned up this, Bhut Jolokia Pruning Experiment...

One thing, this was one thread and there are plenty of others where plant was not trimmed that did fantastic. Maybe do your own "side-by-side" grow out?

True. And if you do decide to prune, make sure you know "how to prune". While I can't say that pruning helps in any significant way, if not done correctly, it can certainly hurt.

I agree, don't touch them. They look great; nice and short and stocky. The ONLY pruning I'd do (on those particular plants) would be to take off any leaves that are touching the soil- that's it. It'll significantly reduce your chances of getting any soil born disease/fungus.
