Obesum scions on arabicum rootstock.

I grafted obesum scions on an arabicum rootstock. I was trying to find out if obesum took on arabicum.

Arabicum with big leaves, obesum with very little leaves right now.

I grafted a "Fuchsia Flame (A)" scion onto an obesum root stock, and it's worked out pretty well.

(You can see the long narrow leaves on the lower half.)

(Big fat leaves on top.)

(Now a bud cluster.)

They do these kind of grafts all the time in Thailand and Taiwan so yes, it works fine. Siam Adenium has a lot of photos of obesums grafted onto arabicums of various kinds, onto RCN's, Socco's, etc.

Should work fine. Supposedly people have managed to graft Plumeria to Adenium rootstocks, so this should be no biggie.
