Australis ssp. australis gone wild...

Hi everyone. A couple years ago, I whacked away at my australis ssp. australis and offered cuttings for a buck apiece. Well, it's overgrown again... took it down from the top shelf in the GH today, out to the patio to wash it off:

I think I'm going to start myself a new pot as this one has just gotten where it takes up way too much space! So I'm offering cuttings again for $1 apiece plus shipping, and in most cases, it would probably be a light enough package to ship first class, which takes the same amount of time for (usually) close to half the cost. Please contact me through this site if you want some. Include your zip code and how many cuttings you'd like.

That is huge! What size pot is that in?

I think it's a 14" pot. It's crazy big, trust me! It must weight about 25 lbs...

H.australis ssp australis does have a tendency to go ballistic. Here's one in habitat, it's spread out over the rocks disappearing into the background and going up through the trees. Couldn't fit it all into the one photo. This one should probably be labeled Hoya australis ssp. australis 'Buderim'.

Hi Laura, and thanks for the kind words. I still have GW as my homepage and stop in daily - it's still my favorite forum...feels like home! Hope you've been well and that your Hoyas are thriving!

I got my cuttings and my new Callistrophylla <----- she is a beauty! I kept "Majik" as 1 cutting. Happy with them all. Thank you!

Here they are all potted up. This area in under a tree. They will love it here for now.

The promise of things to come!

Glad you like them, Lydia. Those australis will be a brighter green if you grow them in the shade. That's how I plan to grow my newly potted cuttings.

So Denise, I read some of your Ramblings & read abt this, that you'd posted here & didn't get many takers. May I pls buy 3-5 of these, if you've still got? Don't know if you've got a current list for sale, but I'd also love some replacement Macrophylla variegate if you've got any to spare (still makes me swoon.

Totally unrelated but I just found and read your blog the other day :D

Hi Triff. My ramblings are probably pretty boring to most people, but it helps me keep track of the progress of my plants. It's really handy in that I can put a plant name in the search box and it gives me all I've written about it over the years.

It blows me away how much faster stuff roots and grows in the south. Congrats on all that new growth!
