Wow.....I didn't know that about the blooms! So we get a surprise every time an Adendium blooms. Thank you all for the reassurance. I may get that ruffle feather bloom later on :) It's just one my grand daughter liked, when I purchased it, so I guess I was expecting it to be like the picture. Since it was grafted, I just assumed it would look like the parent plant. I'm still learning about these Adeniums :)

Yep, Shang and Rob are right and this is true of a lot more plants than just adeniums. African Violets for example can have blooms all over the place looking different if they were originally grown in different conditions (like cool Russia versus Deep South in the States). Temperature is a key player but also humidity, PH, light levels. And as stated the maturity of the plant also plays a roll because it takes a lot out of a plant to make flowers, especially great big triples. So wait a while and see how it does on later bloom cycles.

Because of the easy way you can graft on adenium you can have one adenium and it have 7 different color flowers and 7 different kinds of flowers they are an amazing plant and so easy to work with. Except when it's rainy season here in Central Florida then I cover them up with their own personal clear umbrella LOL
