I wish the rain would stop, well, raining on my parade.

I've only got two bearded varieties blooming this year (hoping the newer additions will bloom next year, but not holding my breath). The Siberians aren't being very photogenic with the rain we've had lately.

Thanks for the pic, BB! That's a pretty one. It's fun to see what's going on in other people's gardens. I hope your new additions will bloom for you sooner than later. I'm happy that every new one I planted last July bloomed this year! ....I wish you could send some rain my way. We're HOT and DRY here.

They were planted kind-of late last year, and all of them came up (though one has subsequently died), but I wasn't holding my breath on them blooming this year. I'm hoping that after a year of settling in they'll be ready to bloom for me come next year.

Hi irisgal! I was wondering where you were because I knew you finally got some nice rain this year and thought your iris must have liked that. Too bad it does water the pesky weeds, also. I have my share and grass growing in between Iris is the worst.

That was a long wait for your Dauber's Delight to bloom, but its long awaited appearance shows it's very pretty. I have five new varieties to find places for. I'm running out of room, but I think Iris are so lovely that they're hard to resist.

All reseeding annuals grew larger than I've seen. If we get decent rain this winter I expect to several beardeds back in bloom. I'll be posting this spring Sandy! Love your 'Starship Enterprise' and eager to hear about its performance next year. Happy gardening.

I love Louisa's Song! I think that is such a gorgeous iris though its blooms are so sparse. I have a huge clump but only two bloom stalks. Harvest of Memories grows like a weed here. I have given away clump after clump and they still form clumps. A little late to the posting but here are some of my iris this spring.

Thanks for sharing your pics, Karen! I'm glad you joined in. (I got a little pouty back in June, wondering where all the Iris growers were, lol) ..... You have a lot of pretty Iris. Your City Lights glow like my Clarence. I really like the color of your big, beautiful clump of Lady Friend. All very nice!

Thanks Sandy! Since the blooming of spring bulbs to now, it has been so busy that I have had no time to post or even participate in the forums on a regular basis. THings are much calmer now as less are blooming. During the last 2 months, I had been so busy picking japanese beetles and weeds. It has been so wet here that the weeds have had a field day with their growths and bugs galore.

Karen, that's why your gardens always look so good! You get out there and get it done. I hope you took a lot of good pictures this year. Sorry to hear you have those dreaded Japanese Beetles. They sound like a real nightmare, and I hope they never get a foothold in my area.

Hello sandyslopes, I know I'm late to the comments, but I love your combo in the first photo with Schriener's Boo Boo. What is the bright green, slightly yellowish with red tips plant behind it? It adds great contrast!

mmartine10, thanks! That is a spirea called Magic Carpet. It's a little more compact, and I agree that the yellow with red tips is a nice contrast. It stands out in the garden.

The magic carpet will also bloom pink flowers. At least it does in my area..I started with one of those 4 yrs ago.After dividing I have over 50 now.They are hard to divide as the whole root ball is mostly wood.I used an electric saw and divide them before they put out leaves.Its a major workout but its been well worth it.They are so TOUGH!!

That "siberian" iris looks a lot like I. Versicolor to me.

Randy Man, I thought having eight MC spireas was a lot. I wouldn't have thought to try dividing them.
