I don't know why I have like three accounts on here.. Anyway, I can't edit the original post but I wanted to correct myself. The orchid is on the EAST side of the house not the NORTH side of the house.

You cannot edit your original entry. You have a Cymbidium and the rot in that old leafless pseudobulb is not good. See if you can find some complete culture notes written for your part of the world.

I removed the rotted pseudobulb and noticed a root springing up from one of the surviving bulbs. Think it might survive?

It doesn't look too bad but it might need repotting or at least have the drainage holes enlarged. The mixture should never dry out but should never be like a swamp.

They are garden plants here, Zone 7A? Hopefully, someone from Northern USA will add to this.

I am not sure if they are garden plants here in Tulsa, so I am thinking I will probably have to move it once the summer really heats up. If it can withstand 90 degree mornings in full sun and 100+ degree afternoons with full shade, it should be okay. I am just not sure it can do that!

I live in So. Florida and they do not do well here. They do not take the heat. Some growers get them to bloom by putting them in air-conditioned sun rooms or green houses. They have developed 'heat tolerant' Cyms but people I know have not been able to bloom them growing outdoors.

When I lived in NY, they bloomed easily and grew well.

It looks like your plant will make it, but not sure if you'll get blooms. Not sure what your winter temps are, but they like cool nights.
