Looks like a bunch of seedlings to me. They may get much bigger, eventually.

The one in the square pot looks like 'Blue Cadet' possibly, not a clue on the other two. When posting pictures of NOIDS size reference is important of course, which you alluded to, but also what's the BACK side of the leaves like, glossy, matte, glaucous or ? The other thing that's always very helpful is pictures of the flowers and scapes and it's too early for those obviously...

Third one is probably either Blue Cadet or Blue Boy, more likely BC. Second photo is almost certainly Venusta. First pot may well be one of the many Venusta forms or strains or types as well. Where did you acquire these hostas? That may give a better hint as to what they might be.

They came from a plant auction held by a local garden club, presumably from members' gardens. Not all the plants had IDs beyond general plant variety and description. Some plants had names (I got a nice little Heuchera that came labeled as "Amethyst Mist"); other plants had labels such as "Hosta Low." If they'll get big, they can get spaces in one of the gardens; I was going to put them in pots (and drop them into the ground for the winter), so I could keep them a bit more protected from hungry deer and bunnies.

It appears that what you have are all pieces taken from mature plants. These will not get much taller, but will spread out. The Venusta will eventually form a clump 24-30 inches across, but only a couple of inches tall. The Blue Boy/Blue Cadet (or whatever it is) will have more of a mounding habit, but will eventually get to 24 inches across, not much more than 10-12 inches tall. All of these will do fine in pots or planted directly in the ground, none of them require any special conditions, and will grow in a wide variety of soils and light levels. The minis are quite addictive, you will probably want to add more to your garden at some point.

i have a miniature hosta that looks similar to your first pic and I have been trying to ID it as well. I have come to the conclusion it is gracillima but this is just an educated guess. Below is the info I have gathered from my books on gracillima

Edith, thanks for the alternate suggestion. I'll have to look at the base of the scape for the purple dotting (if it's big enough for that), and wait and see what its flower looks like.
