I have never seen a bloom on a baby leaf before. :)

    Usually it happens when you leave the stem on the leaf too long though on very rare occasions I can happen on a shorter stem too. Closer to the parent stem the petole (leaf stem) contains flower bud cells. If you let the leaf produce a flower, it's wasting energy it could be putting into making more babies and roots.

    So that is why you always want to cut the leaf petole shorter - to not more than an inch long, or even half an inch.

    Also if it's not buried deeply your babies will pop up mouse ears much faster. I very frequently have mouse ears up within 3 weeks if the temperatures are not too extreme.
