Bon, I think they're both crossed. Looks something like what I'd expect from a Tahitian Melon Squash cross with Old Timey Cornfield Pumpkin. The good thing is, that almost any c. moshata cross will still be of good eating quality for winter squash.

Hand pollination is the way to go.

This has been an excellent instructional point for the kiddos relating to sexing flowers, hand pollinating and cross pollinating. The plant vines are growing so fast in its spread that normal pumpkins are developing. Love this plant.

When recovering from an accidental cross I'd recommend that you "self" your pure vines. This means that you use a male flower from the same vine as the female (The shape of whose fruit you can already see). This assures purity and, essentially, cuts the crossed squash out of the next generation, as you'll grow the pure seed only in the coming year.
