I think flat graft would be the easiest. Join them together, superglue edges, tape around with graft tape and keep humidity high like a small lunch bag over.

If my grafts grow well, I will send u cuttings. i have about 12 grafts imported from Thailand.

thanks I probably only use them for summer in winter they don't get enough sun I will put my baby plants in them in spring

Had big afternoon my wife and i mixed up a wheel barrow of potting mix with charcoal in it as someone suggested & up rooted 40 D/R maybe i should not do it in the middle of winter . i found rot in two plants not in the roots but in little branches on the cortex one i had to operate going to let them dry out overnight then repot tomorrow .

40 D/R drying out most are pink roots were dripping wet lucky i love growing D/R Agartta did you get some grafts from thailand

Peter, Please don't take this the wrong way. :)

You would be crazy to send cuttings/seed/plants by mail into WA to trade with Agartta. The quarantine laws are strict in WA for a reason. There are huge fines of thousands of dollars that both you and Agartta could be faced with paying if caught. All items sent through Australia Post into WA pass through quarantine. Any item not marked as 'plant material' is also subject to X-ray & sniffer dogs that are trained to detect plant material. It is not worth the huge cost of fines, let alone the environmental concerns.

Agartta, You may or may not be allowed to send cuttings/seeds/plants into NSW to Peter, but you would have to check your quarantine laws first to be sure. It's possible that you're allowed to send plant material out to other states but you're definitely not allowed to receive any without a import permit for interstate importation.

Ok thank you Rachel very much i really appreciate the advice i will not send any i will not take the risk. what do you think about what I done to my plants its a bit risky i know i will keep the potting mix a bit dry what is your opinion once again thanks for the advice

Hey Pete, It is a bit risky having to repot now, but if you're careful, you might be good. I see no problem with adding the charcoal to your mix & it looks like you've added perlite. I think I would probably have about half the mix as perlite being you're having to repot in Winter - (so it is a light mix and also so it drys out faster), the charcoal should also help them dry out faster. I would not water the newly potted plants for a while. Give them time to settle back in & when you have a warmer day you could give them a little bit of water. Do what you can to protect them from rain, maybe tie up a tarp to a fence or tree as a temporary cover when it rains. Good luck with your plants and I hope the 'rot monster' stays away. :)

thanks Rachel what I'm going to do is make up a winter mix I will double the perlite I put 2x20kg bags cactus mix, perlite ,half a block fine coco coir, 1 bag cow manure charcoal in the bottom of the pot I put about 2" of course coco coir it seems to work I have been using this mix for years the only extra thing I have put in this time to try is garden quality charcoal just to give it a go.

Honestly, I would skip the cow manure & the coco coir this time - both those products will leave your mix too wet for Winter. (Just my opinion)

I would stick with the cactus mix, perlite & charcoal. (If they were my plants being repotted in Winter that's what I would do. I would even see if I could get a larger perlite size to use. I believe you can get large perlite from hydroponics suppliers.) But it your choice what you think is best. :)

yeah Rachel I agree with you I will keep that mix for spring.I already have the course perlite I will make up a special mix today with lots of perlite thanks
