With hanging baskets I soak the basket in a tub of water and then don't water again until noticeably lighter. How is she watering?

Generally she uses a moisture meter, watering when it indicates the soil is fairly dry.

Trim them back. Fertilize them, water well and leave them alone. They don't need to be coddled. They will bounce back pretty quickly.

Don't overlook the Fertilize them in that last message.

Those plants are looking pretty green for it to of been a fertilization issue, wouldn't hurt though.

Check to see if the drain hole is at the bottom of the pot, or recessed above about 1/2" (which would allow 1/2" of water to rot the roots.)
