I have a hybrid rhododendron named Humboldt Sunrise. One of two plants is showing some necrosis at the top of the stem, but the leaf growth at the base of the plant is incredibly healthy. What would this indicate? Is there some kind of fungal infection here? Should I be cutting off the necrotic part at the top?
