OK, so it seems that in this case the restrictor is combined with an aerator, which is easily removable. The problem then becomes finding a non-restricting or less restricting aerator that will fit the faucet. For me however, it turns out that the faucet interferes with the window sill, so I had to temporarily install an old faucet from my old kitchen but perhaps this information will be useful to someone else. EPA does not allow for any faucet to have non-restriction. I checked the flow rate with restrictor it is 1.5 gallons per minute.

Do you mean that EPA requires restrictors to be non-removable or that a consumer might get prosecuted for removing a restrictor from their own faucet? By the way EPA is a US organization and I am not in the US but the local laws are probably similar.

No, It is not illegal for you to remove. Yes EPA is in the US only ... the model that is available in your country may have a different flow rate.

I'm in Canada and they have flow restrictors here too. I always remove them now because we are on a well system and don't have the heavy duty water pressure that you do in the city.
