First some brand new seedlings germinated in the past week or so. 12 adenium arabicum 'Black RCN' and 12 mixed color obseums. /One/ of the RCN's has thicker, smaller, curled leaves so I'll have to wait and see what the next pairs of leaves look like. I would be very happy if it were a DHA but that's doubtful. Time will tell if any of the RCN's turn out to actually produce black stems.

Below is a robustly growing 'Chankajung' seedling. The parent is a pale triple pink and yellow bloom but I would not be surprised if most of these turn out to be pinks. I germinated about 100 of these and those that don't produce lovely flowers will become rootstocks for other obseums. All of these larger seedlings were germinated last August and are currently in the 4 to 5 inch tall range.

Below, some of my 15 or more 'Kiseki' seedlings. Again started last August they are freshly repotted and growing very quickly now. Lots of branching on these! 3 inch pots.

Below a 'Tropical Love' seedling with very pale greenish-yellow leaves. Quite the contrast when seen next to other seedlings as most of them are much darker.

Some of my many adenium obseum 'Snow White' seedlings. I am hoping some of these will turn out to be lovely triple whites like the parent plant. Many may not be white at all and that can be interesting as well to see what it throws. Pinks? Reds? Yellows? Some of these have large leaves, as do my 'Star of Top' seedlings and some of my 'Chankajung's.

Below for contrast, this is a KO 52 seedling showing off VERY TINY leaves on what so far may be a dwarf form. The plant is very small, germinated last August, but has much branching and itty-bitty leaves. I have several like this, one of them a miniature 'Tropical Love' seedling with tiny leaves, dwarf form so far, and very pale yellow leaves that I have to keep out of the sun. All the rest of these take full sun. The wide range and variety of leaves from one seedling to the next, even from the same parent hybrid, is fascinating to me.

Another 'Snow White' seedling, this one looks more like my 'Kiseki' seedlings in that it has many branches and smaller leaves. I also have a number of dark leaved arabicums, as well as a few Golden Crowns and a Diamond King. I keep eye balling King Crown seeds on Ebay. Hmmm.

This is only a small sampling as I have about 400 seedlings even after giving some away as gifts. I have also potted up a number of these to have 2 or 3 per pot for multi-stemmed groupings. Later when they bloom, I can choose which ones I will keep, sell, or graft.

ALL of these are being root trained to some degree after they were repotted. Tap roots were either twisted and entertwined close up beneath the caudex, trimmed off to encourage more fine roots, or in a few cases all roots sliced off to grow centipede roots (only a few of those so far). All roots spread out horizontally so not to grow downwards too much yet.
