This has been mentioned here before, but I am hoping to have the evildoers licked this year.

I lost nearly all of my pomegranates to the damage the LFB's do by sucking the juices and leaving large rotted areas in the fruit. I tried spraying a combo of orange and neem oil in water. It chased them away, only to return. I tried pesticide, I was that desperate. The pesticide would have to consist of tiny grenades to be effective on LFBs due to their exoskeleton.

A lady I met in goodyear said she puts socks on her pomegranates with good results. Seems a bit expensive. Then I heard of using the little organza bags used for gift bags at weddings, etc. They have drawstrings in the top that pull from either side.

My trees look quite merry now. I hope I didn't get the bags on too late. I was checking the other day and one of the LFBs was sitting on the outside of a bag and giving me the evil eye.

I didn't buy enough the first time. I didn't realize there were so many up there. I slipped the bag over the fruit and gently drew the string around the branch, but loosely, only enough to keep the bugs out.

Then I got wise and got bigger longer bags and put them over the grape clusters! YAY! I had grapes to eat! Next year everything, even tomatoes, get bagged as soon as the fruit sets.
