Mid June blooms

I have been very pleased with most of my roses this year ! I feel very blessed to be a sahm and have extra time to spend in the garden , and the extra effort is showing. When I worked I simply couldn't get to watering as often and forget weeds and mulching .. it would take all summer to get it done if at all. And last year my baby was a newborn so I really couldn't just plop her in the 90 degree heat so not much got done last year either. So this year I feel like I am getting to see my roses really flourish and enjoy them with her . Even though she is on a rampage of plucking things she shouldn't.. like petals and daylily buds (!!!) she also has learned how to say flower and we work on our colors out there too . Anyway , I could talk about her all day :)

here is the rose , St Cecilia . Really fantastic, slightly delicate so far gets a touch of brown damage from rain. Of course rain came and ruined these buds but not horribly . If you want a great cut rose , this is it! It lasted a full week in the vase !

Look how deep the cups are ! Swoon! And the fragrance is gorgeous too .

Next is fire opal by kordes. I love this rose , it's very simple but beautiful

My teasing Georgia is in its second flush and is heavenly! My only complaint is it's gorgeous petals make perfect hiding places for horrendous Japanese beetles . Every day I kill more and more in this shrub. Jerks .

Above is lavender veranda . Someone mentioned it being very blackspotty for them so I'm going to start spraying it as the bottom leaves fell off .

I hate posting this photo of the beloved violets pride but this stage I call the "kiss of death " because that's what it looks like. Eeek ! Why ?! Wish it opened up prettier but I still love it .

This is my first bloom on baby Savannah . I love it ! It's paler than I expected but I don't mind one bit .

Couple bed shots , y'all helped me with this this spring when I thought I'd never get it finished so thank you for your encouragement!

Boscobel with catmint and flamenco Rosita in the background. That rose never quits and is dominating the bed big time ! I already may have to move things out of its way before they get swallowed up.

Violets pride looking good

Does this rose look familiar to anyone ? Hybrid tea shape , no fragrance and matte leaves with black spot . Mislabeled from Walmart.

Last one is pretty in pink Eden. It has bloomed a lot for a new climbing rose! I need to get a trellis for it . It's very lovely. Thanks for looking !!

They look amazing lilyfinch. Where did you get St Cecelia? I'd love to have her. Everything looks beautiful and you can talk about your sweet daughter as much as you want. We love seeing pics of her.

Beetles are just horrendous. Haaaaate them. I'm so bad I knock,them in a baggie and let them soak in the hot sun. I feel like I need to torture them bc they torture me.

My Savannah is always a deeper color but fades to your pretty shade. It's taking a long time to reblooming though it seems.

One more question. How big is your Fire Opal bloom? I almost got it but the bloom was huge so I passed but the pics of it are always gorgeous.

Wow your bed shots look beautiful. I like the catmint with the pink roses. Just gorgeous!!! Your Violets Pride are amazing. Mine is covered up with a crape myrtle I had to cut down but it wants to keep shooting up stems. Not sure how to get rid of them. Judy

Love the nepeta with both pink roses. Read up on 'Flamenco Rosita' after seeing yours. Eeks. 13 feet wide?! That gorgeous bright color compliments better than any other I can think of.

I loved raising my children. Such fun seeing them learn about the world.

Looking forward to seeing the fence roses and clematis in bloom now the corner bed's filled out. Total saturation.

ps: note to self. find a place for teasing georgia.

Your bed is filling in quickly! They all look good. Spacing can be so hard, since some roses take off quick & others don't. I know by next year I'm going to have to edit & expand. It's so nice when you can enjoy all the effort you put in & see them blooming away.

Prettypetals, I think the blooms are about 4 inches and are big but I really like this rose a lot ! I'm glad I got it . You gotta get that crepe myrtlye out of there! Lol we have one of those trees and it's always sprouting like a shrub from the base and I don't know what to do with it either.

Irisgal , I didnt know it would get 13 ft wide but I'm not surprised! I hardly deadhead it , it just keeps going . I thought I read 5 by 6 when I ordered it , but it was that size by the end of last summer. It's really an incredible Rose! And everyone should have teasing Georgia! It does get black spot but never looks awful from it. It's probably my favorite rose . they all are though so don't ask me to pick ! Lol

hallo , you are right it is hard to space ! When I see empty room in the spring I immediately want to plop something there. Luckily I love a good overstuffed bed but I know at lease two roses are going to need moved next spring.

Lilyfinch, it looks great, so many blooms. Violet's Pride is loaded with blooms. Do they last and any BS issues? Savannah is gorgeous.
