Suggestions on home remodeling sequence

I'm planning for a major remodeling of our current home. I've been talking to multiple contractors based on their expertise and would like to use different one for the job. Since I don't have 1 general contractor to help on the planning, I don't know if there is advantage to complete one before the other.

With our budget plan, I'm thinking that we should go in this sequence of ordering.

1. Full-frame replacement double-pane windows to reduce the sizes (11 windows and 2 sliding doors). Adding wall to make the windows smaller.
2. Re-paint the interior and exterior (optional).
3. Replace kitchen cabinets with island and couple appliances.
4. Install hardwood floor for the kitchen, living room, and hallway.
5. Install wall moldings.

I'm not sure if I should do 4 before 3 or not. Please let me know if you have any suggestions on the sequence for jobs 1 to 5.

cyberx, I have been advised to go to bed by my friends on OLLD. Your list is much too short and is out of sequence. I'll post a comprehensive list soon! Sequencing is about what makes sense....from a builder's point of view....

Although admittedly my comment comes without much information regarding your house, I've never heard of anyone wanting to make windows smaller rather than larger. Most people appreciate the inherent qualities of natural light and go to great extremes to get it. You sir are the first to speak of doing the opposite. I'm certain you have your reasons and I hope they are good ones because additionally adding wall can be expensive. Just saying...

Madeline, just to correct myself that I only reduce the size for kitchen windows to get more space for cabinets. They are 2 big windows on both sides of the kitchen corner so I might not lose much of the natural light.
