It's an attractive house that just needs new landscaping. Talk to a professional landscape designer about costs if that's a significant factor in your decision.

I agree with apple pie...all those plants right next to the house really detract. You need some landscaping that has some curves further away from the house. As far as painting the brick...I think I would start with the wood - maybe pick some color in the grey color family. Some experts say not to paint brick.

I agree that whitewashing or painting brick is not a good idea. It turns a no maintenance exterior into something that requires regular maintenance. This is all about the landscaping for sure. Changing the siding color to a pale gray is an excellent idea.

It's a nice looking house! I agree - landscaping is a big part of the curb appeal problem. And the pinkish beige paint color is doing nothing for the brick--paint the wood and trim either deep gray, light gray, sage, or light taupe. What's the deal with the front window? Is it boarded up? It doesn't have the dark window-frame like the windows by the front door. That could be changed. That window could also stand to have shutters, as long as they are each as wide as half the window and arched on top.

Also agree. Proper landscaping will make a huge diffference. I would leave the brick as is since it's a bigger job and there is probably no point spending all that money on that, but i would consider painting the plaster something that's more current. Changing the trim colors and adding shutters the same color as the trim would also help.
It wouldn't be terribly hard to do a "digital" remodel before so you see what you will get. I'll upload some pix when I have a chance to show you what I mean.
