2 Fuzzy Tillandsia's

The T.tectorum photo is of one I got for free- a wee Tillandlet. It was on fumes and still a bit scruffed up. So- water in summer, and no water in winter outdoors in California?

The other ..I lost the name. I do remember reading that its common all through Mexico and SA in highlands.. a rock grower found near Machu Pichu too. It was thriving for years. 2 years ago..I just went too long in summer without watering it (the drought had me doing wrong habits) and half or more of the plant died. Its made sort of a comeback since.

I'm wondering if no (or little) rain in winter is important for this? I had left it out all those years....but would I have been better putting it on the porch for winter?
