I love them. They're not flamboyant flowers, but I found them charming and the bloom period quite long, but alas, they are not hardy for me, apparently. I had a plant for a couple of years, but it succumbed to one harsh winter. I nurtured along a couple of seedlings afterwards, but they didn't make it through the winter. I am conceding defeat.

I had a couple of species but talk about seeding all over the place, I shovel pruned them. I missed one of the seedlings when weeding and glad I did as it turned out to be quite pretty, especially in bud.

Probably a cross with this one Hadspen Blood.

Dont talk about seedlings...you will scare 'woody' ;). It must be the climate as I have 5 of these plants and although I do see a baby or two it is not usual.

(Btw, aftermidnight how are your wonderful hydrangeas e.g. "Miss Saori" and "Golden Crane"?)

It was only the species that seeded around, no problem with the others. As to the hydrangeas, they are doing very well, in fact I'm really happy with Miss Saori, we just had the worst winter ever and my two shrubs of this came through with flying colors. Golden Crane is just starting to flower now, Miss Saori is not showing flowers yet but the burgundy foliage is outstanding especially when the sun is shining on it. I will try and take pictures when in bloom.

I'm afraid most of my garden is looking a little under the weather like me, battling another health issue right now :(, hopefully I can beat it one more time. I'll have to get my gardening fix from you guys for awhile :).

In full bloom and this one, unlike all the others I have, actually reblooms.

This thread reminded me that I like them LOL! I saw some at a local nursery but didn't want to pay the outrageous price -- maybe I'll pick some up on clearance in the fall.

'sunny' have you noticed if your "Roma" reblooms?
