Bela Lugosi lilies won't bloom.
Two years ago I bought a pair of Bela Lugosi daylilies and planted them. The first year they were beautiful and bloomed perfectly. The second year they were the first bulbs to start coming up in my lily garden but they never actually bloomed. The leaves were green, plentiful, and large, but not one single bud to be found between the two of them.
This year they were again the first to start coming up. They currently are plentiful in leaves and green, but still no sign of any buds. There's no damage to the leaves that I can see, they are planted in the same plot (with at least a foot distance if not more between them) with other lilies that are growing and preparing to bud without issue. Including Oriental and other daylilies, and there seems to be more than enough sunlight to support them all. Yet nothing from the Belas.
Has anyone else had this issue with Belas or daylilies in general? Is there something I can to do try to encourage blooming?
