I sure hope we do, but not holding my breath.

We could sure use the rain. I have patches of dead grass already and that usually doesn't start till July. :(

Usually, when it shows a lot of rain for us, as I watch it change from day to day over a week's time, all the rain moves east into Arkansas. Let's hope that doesn't happen to y'all this week. They've got us at, I think, a 50% chance for Friday night, but we aren't expecting big totals. Still, any rain is better than no rain.

Woo hoo, y'all. They've raised my rain forecast for Friday night from 50% to 80%. I hope everyone else's chances of rain are increasing as well. Of course, my skeptic DH would say it is an 80% chance of nothing because so often no matter what the forecast says, we get nothing.

Sure hope so. Watering every other day in some cases is a bit much.

Bon, That is a bit much to have to water and I won't water that often, not even in drought. I used to, but found it didn't help enough to justify the extra expense. I've watered about twice a week (sometimes only once) and have let plants get too dry at times and that's life. You know its really sad when zinnias and moss rose wilt, but it is what it is. Our two garden plots are too big to water frequently so the plants have to sink or swim on their own with only a small amount of irrigation. Well, I think my garden is getting skimpy irrigation and I'm sure Tim thinks I'm overwatering it. I'm dreading the June water bill enough as it is without having to water again this week. The garden looked too dry yesterday afternoon but I'm trying to hold out for rainfall.

I did zone my garden this year, putting everything together geographically that I knew would need more irrigation in July and August, and most of it is in the back garden, with only a smallish portion of it in one part of the front garden. I could let everything in the front garden go now, except for peppers and perennial flowers and I'd be okay with it. Not thrilled, but okay. Luckily it hasn't come to that yet. On the other hand, I hate it when it rains a whole lot at one time and tomatoes and melons start bursting open from the sudden, rapid growth induced by excess moisture. I wish rainfall here would come regularly in moderate amounts, but we always seem to swing back and forth between not enough and too much at once.

As you know, the spring was really wet for us. The biggest disaster wasn't the rain, but all those cloudy days. It took weeks. We just didn't have enough sun for a very long time. The peppers are only, just now, bearing fruit except he jalapenos. Those have been fruiting for two weeks. The tomatoes are just beginning to turn, bearing some teaser Sungolds for us. I have some huge beautiful green tomatoes in that wild tomato patch. I'm very proud. Gotta keep going. I think most will have stink bug damage, but we'll make do. We're not raw eaters, but sauce cookers.
