The rooted cutting discussions peaked my interest in air laying again I was trying to find some good info on air layering citrus, I know I've read how people have done it but when I search I come up with old threads that show it after its rooted. I feel like I have a vague understanding of cutting away an inch or two of bark, dusting with rooting hormone and wrapping in spag with plastic, then foil. I am less sure on timing, like what is the best time of year to layer? Is it too late to start now? I read that there is a time of year that the bark is easier to peel but don't know when that is. How to pick the best branches, all green, brown, mix of both? I have a few crossing branches and new growth on my Oro and Minneola that I'd like to prune away for better shape but want to try and make something of the branches. I have a few cuttings I am trying to root by air laying seems much more fool proof and less time involved. Anyone have a good resource that that gives step by step instructions? or personal advice?
