I would always water at the base/ crown of the plant, I know what about the rain, that something we can't control ..Wet leave and sun will only fried the leaves

It is always best to water at the root zone.......plants take up nearly all the water they need via the roots, not through the foliage. Overhead watering/watering the foliage can lead to fungal issues, depending on the timing, although early day watering - so that there is plenty of time for the water to dry or evaporate - is much less of an issue than later in the day when humidity is at its highest and less chance of the foliage to dry thoroughly.

btw, water on foliage on sun does NOT lead to scorching or leaf burning......a popular but inaccurate gardening myth :-))
