Another option to help inset your fridge if you are going to be remodeling is to pull the drywall out and inset it along the studs to create about 3 more inches of depth for the refrigerator. It's the same concept as a shower niche but large enough for your refrigerator.

Counter depth refers to the sides. The door of course, adds, as does the handle. This is QUITE a better and different look than a full depth fridge, whose SIDES will jut past your 24/ 25 inch counter top depth significantly.

The door must go beyond counters or it would fail to open , you would never get a bin out of it.
