Azaleas and rhododendrons?

What time of day was that picture taken and what direction is the fence from where the plantings would be? It certainly doesn't look shady in the picture, and if you plant a shrub of any size, I will be planted some distance from the fence and in the plant would be in sun.

presuming your not directly under the leaning branch.. i might think that is a very bright area .. and would not limit myself to shade plants ...

i would also think about removing the leaning trunk.. if it were on my property ...

When you say 'end of the fence' are you talking about planting something 'just beyond' the end of the fence within the trees?

I was originally thinking the last quarter of the fence, so that it hides that dark area in the overhang of the trees? The trees are not on our property, but I could trim them.

There is enough ambient light there for almost anything. Which direction does the fence face?
