Hosta companions - favorites?

Thought I'd share a plant that helps me fill out my hosta bed where it's just too hot for any hosta. This is my variegated comfrey - "Axminster Gold". It kind of helps with continuity if I need to fill out a bed that gets too much sun in spots.

Looks pretty close to my wolverine:

Believe it or not that's the only one I bought! I have to restrict myself otherwise I'll overspend! Hope to go back later this summer for a few more but I have to get what I have planted first.

Got the comfrey in the internet kind of pricey and I can't remember where if I do I will let u know

Very attractive. I don't recall ever seeing it offered at any of the nurseries I frequent. Is it aggressive?

Hi Debbie. It was kind of hard to find. It stays in a clump and enlarges but doesn't spread invasively. It does grow to about 5' tall when it blooms but when it reaches full height I cut it back to the ground and it regrows. All in all a nice plant.

I like it! I have never seen one in person, but I just googled it and it looks pretty impressive in a large clump. I will have to keep an eye out for it!

I just cut this clump back to the ground a couple weeks ago it is still young the leaves will get considerably bigger it's a fun plant just visited hosta house yesterday and got a big Komodo dragon:

Have to go back later this summer. His plants look fantastic this year. Tell him ken from Idaho falls sent you. Maybe I'll get a discount!

Hi Ken, I really do need to take a trip to Hosta House! I've been trying to figure out where I can plant more hosta. I planted a new tree 2 years ago and I am probably gonna have to wait until it gets a little bigger and provides more shade lol.

Your Komodo Dragon looks great! Is that the only one you bought??? Where did you get the comfrey?
