It could be a magnesium deficiency. I find putting a very small amount of epsom salt into some water and giving it to the plant when it looks like this can help.

Just to be safe though, I would check the soil after it's been a day or two since the last watering and see how much moisture is in the soil. If you lift up some soil and it looks like mud on the surface, cut back some on the watering (maybe to every 3 or 4 days). If it's completely dry 2 days later you might want to increase the amount of time it waters it for. These palms like a consistent amount of moisture especially when young.

thank you for the feedback. I checked one day after watering and the soil is slightly moist, more towards dry. How much epsom salt do you recommend?

I usually use a lower amount than what some people recommend, plants don't need much magnesium. For most plants I'll use about 2 teaspoons per gallon of water. It also slightly helps with high alkaline soil.

I disagree with the magnesium suggestion, although it would be harmless to do so. Our soils have lots of magnesium and calcium.

If you've been watering it a lot and have never fertilized it, give it a liquid plant fertilizer like Miracle-Gro. All that watering flushes nutrients out of the root zone. MG has micronutrients in it, too, which will help.
