Pool update, it's finished!

almost 2 years ago i solicited color choices for the liner of our pool's super redo. i had been thinking of dark, but we decided to go with a sand color. i really like how that came out, in the shallow end its very sandy color, like when you are wading on a sand bar, in the deep end sparkly aquamarine.

also, i had thought to do pavers but never found any we liked... they looked too tuscan/overwrought, or too commercial. and i decided they'd probably look dated far sooner than i'd be interested in replacing them.

instead, i leaned toward palm springs MCM style, with clean white concrete deck, board fence around the mechanicals, and some yucca. we'll see how the yucca likes RI, our neighbor has some that is thriving at the end of their driveway. the chain link fence was replaced by cast aluminum, and we added a gate and stairs down to the backyard.

we also widened the decking to replace always dead grass, narrowed the decking on the end where the grass always did well.

along the back fence we have a narrow strip of succulents and perennials that are rated for 'roast'. just planted so still small.

BEFORE: old chain link fence, large swath of always burned out grass, traditional blue liner

DURING: sand colored liner being installed, supports for the board fence in place

TA DA, this past weekend. a kind, rainy at the right time spring got our gardening completed.
