I tried to get into Photo Bucket recently and found it very difficult advertising in the way. I don't really use it any more.

Nor do I use it anymore, but that is not the issue. All the old posts from when we needed to use web hosting pre-Houzz are now trashed as any PB pix in those old posts are now gone.

This is terrible. I know a lot of us used photobucket before Houzz took over. The old hosta alphabets will have so many missing photos now. What a shame! ...... Also, who is paying that much to use pb and why?

All those photos gone is a huge loss for our forum. Sad.

I haven't used PB for quite some time, so I thought I'd check my account and see what CAN still be done. I'm not sure what we're experiencing is all PB's fault, I think it has to do with the way Houzz runs the forum: you can no longer use in-line code to display a remote-hosted picture. The PB shot can still be accessed but only through a link which means an extra click to see the picture, which I've done to the left, not terribly useful.

It's definitely the way this forum has been structured. I just tried to add one of my PB pix to a posting on the Hallson forum and had no trouble using the direct code you get on PB.

One of the problems we have is we can not make changes to older Gardenweb origined posts otherwise you could simply edit the original post and insert the picture through the usual process.

Yes, it's very unfortunate but this lies @ Houzz's feet. Some of you may recall when Houzz first took over Gardenweb there were major issues with the size of the pictures you upload and how big they would display when clicked on. We seem to have got used to that but you still have to click to get a larger image while on the old Gardenweb forum you could see it displayed larger in-line in the post.

Looking at the web this started about 10 days ago. I got a letter from PB only on Monday. It could be PB hasn't gotten to you yet, Pieter. People all across the net who have nothing to do with Houzz are raging about PB . This is not a Houzz issue from what I see. Also, Flickr pix are unaffected.

I didn't realize this was a recent occurence, as i just rejoined the forum. But this is a huge loss of history and information. I've gone back to many threads to do my own research only to find these "blanks." Where does one send a complaint?

tj, I stand corrected. While it may not have affected me as yet by the looks of it sooner or late it will. Time to clear out my PB account I guess....cannot remember the last time I uploaded a new image.... When posting on forums these days I tend to use the facility provided by the moderator and simply live with the limitations.

I no longer have a PB account. My pics are kept on my own computer, fully understanding that whatever I post on HOUZZ becomes their property to use as they wish. OBTW, Photobucket had that option too! They have the option to dump them too, apparently if you don't pay up. Phoey. That sinks!
